Did you know?

The temple is called Thenupuriswarar Temple based on a legend involving a divine cow and Lord Shiva. In ancient times, Kamadhenu (also known as Thenu) wished to atone for her sins and attain spiritual merit. She came to this sacred spot and performed penance to Lord Shiva. Pleased with her devotion, Shiva appeared before her and granted darshan, absolving her of all sins. Because Thenu (Kamadhenu) worshipped Shiva (Iswarar) here, He became known as:

Thenupuriswarar - Thenu (the divine cow) + puri (place) + Iswarar (Lord Shiva)
Meaning: “Lord of the place worshipped by Thenu.”

Height 18" x 10 " width.

Limited Collectors edition.  A must-have for Durga devotees and Golu collectors alike.
